The team removed a large Beech (dbh 127cm) with aggressive wood decay fungus, Meripilus giganteus, mainly on the rootplate between the tree and the road. As the tree was unsafe to climb using traditional rope access system, we undertook the removal using an IB Access truck mounted work platform and a RD Anderson lorry crane to haul and dispose of the timber offsite. Access was restricted but the work platform and lorry crane worked well together. Another good job!
